How this website handles your personal information. Last updated 17 August 2026.
Who is responsible
Evolutio Hair is the responsible party for the personal information described here, as that term is used in South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). The salon is at Kimberly House, 34 Shortmarket St, Cape Town City Centre, Cape Town, 8000. Reach us about anything on this page at info@evolutio-hair.co.za or +27 81 428 6507.
What we collect, and why
There are two ways this website collects anything about you.
If you request an appointment. The form asks for your name, email address, a phone number, the date and time you would like, and the style you are after. We use it to confirm a time with you and to prepare for your visit. We do not use it for marketing and we do not sell it.
If you allow performance cookies. Then we count visits and see which pages and services get looked at, so we know what to improve. That measurement is aggregated and is not used to work out who you are. It is off until you allow it.
The website takes no payment. There is no card or banking detail to give it, no account to create, and no password to set — appointments are settled in the salon.
Cookies
You choose what to allow the first time you visit, and you can change your mind whenever you like. .
Strictly necessary cookies (always on)
Required for the site to work: routing, security, and remembering this consent choice. They cannot be switched off.
- site_consent_v1 — Stores which cookie categories you allowed. Set by This site. Kept 12 months.
Performance cookies (off unless you allow it)
Let us count visits and see which pages are used, so we know what to improve. Aggregated — not used to identify you.
- _ga, _ga_* — Distinguishes visitors and sessions to report site usage. Set by Google Analytics. Kept 13 months.
Targeting cookies (off unless you allow it)
Used to measure campaigns and show relevant content elsewhere. Off unless you allow them.
Nothing in this category is set on this site today. The choice exists so that if that ever changes, it stays your decision.
Who else handles it
The site’s fonts and every photograph are served from our own domain, so reading a page does not hand you to anyone else. Beyond that:
- Cloudflare hosts the site, and like any host processes your IP address and browser details to serve pages and block abuse.
- Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, measures how the site is used — and only if you allow performance cookies. Where we send events from our own server rather than your browser, they carry your country and a shortened browser description, not your IP address.
- Our email provider delivers your appointment request to us, and a confirmation back to you.
- WhatsApp, if you use the WhatsApp button. That conversation happens inside WhatsApp under its own terms, not on this site.
Some of these providers operate outside South Africa, so your information may be processed abroad. We only use providers that commit to protecting it to a standard comparable to POPIA.
How long we keep it
- Appointment requests and the emails around them: while we are arranging your visit, and for up to 24 months afterwards, so we have your history when you come back.
- Cookies: for the periods listed above.
- Analytics: as aggregated reports. Individual events are not kept beyond 14 months.
Ask us to delete your request sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Your rights
Under POPIA you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong, or complete it if something is missing;
- delete it, where we have no obligation to keep it;
- stop using it for a particular purpose;
- object to us using it at all.
Email info@evolutio-hair.co.za and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can. We may need to check who you are first, so that we are not handing your information to someone else.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, please tell us — we would rather fix it. You also have the right to complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator, which supervises POPIA.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will appear here before they take effect.
